The closest I ever got to an Apple Orchard when I was living on the prairies was picking apples off the produce shelf in the local grocery store. When I moved to Brampton years ago, apple picking was a highlight and it still is to this day. I delight in the simple pleasure of trekking through the orchard in the fresh air and gathering a bushel of fresh, juicy apples (or whatever I can carry.)
Brampton is very lucky to have a wide selection of Apple Orchards within close driving distance. Our Brampton moms and kids visited Berryview Farms, on Heart Lake Road in Caledon, just north of Mayfield Road for a pleasurable outing.
The dwarf trees are perfect for the kiddos, as they don’t have to climb ladders. Heck, the dwarf trees were perfect for ME!
We picked an assortment of Macs, Galas we taste-tested the Honey Crisp. Even though it was a huge apple, it was deliciously sweet. There are a couple of tractors to climb on too.
Remember the golden rule: Eye to the Sky, twist and turn!
