Cut a piece of tissue paper to fit around your candle and draw a design on it with markers. Wrap it around the candle.
Cut a piece of waxed paper and put it on top of the tissue paper, wrapping it around the candle. Leave an extra inch around the back to hold with your fingers.
Using a hair dryer set on low, heat until the wax paper melts into the candle. Your artwork will come through the paper clearly. Stop heating when this happens and stand back and admire your work!
The children also learned how to sign I Love You in sign language. To sign I Love You, put up your thumb, index finger and pinkie finger, while keeping your ring finger and your middle finger down. Hold the hand out, palm facing away from you and move it back and forth slightly.
And as if they hadn't sat still long enough, they continued to work quietly and make beautiful bracelets and necklaces for their mothers to wear.
