Did you know Chimo means Welcome in Eskimo? When I was 13, the government opened up a new highway which granted the public access to prime water lots. My parents purchased a picturesque lakefront property and thus began the 3 mile trek by water to build Chimo, our summer home.
The old saying always was: Sid couldn’t be happy driving a car; he had to drive a bus. He couldn’t be content having one child, so he had twins. And he couldn’t be happy with a normal sized cabin; he had to build a dancehall.
When we see twinkling stars up above, we know that they are winking at us. The love of the lake they instilled in us & the importance of family is their legacy they have left to us. See you next summer, Chimo.
