As part of our long term waste management plan, the Region of Peel is committed to reducing the negative impacts of waste on our environment. That is why, after a thorough review of the findings from a year-long pilot program, Regional Council adopted the change to bi-weekly, cart-based collection.
Beginning January 2016, your blue box, green bin and garbage containers will be replaced with carts.
Weekly collection of your green bin material will continue and your garbage and recycling will be collected on an alternating, every-other-week schedule.

In the coming year you will learn more about this change. In preparation, and to make your transition to bi-weekly, cart-based collection a smooth one, get to know and make full use of the Blue Box and Green Bin Programs to reduce the amount of waste your household produces on a weekly basis.

The garbage and recycling carts are colour-coded to distinguish them from each other and the organic carts have a special locking mechanism to keep critters out.
