Kids love fire trucks and Fire Prevention week was our chance to meet a fire fighter up close and personal
Brampton moms and kids visited Brampton Fire Station #207. Fireman Tom made sure all the momstown Brampton kids knew the emergency number 911. Firefighters are there to help us and we should not be afraid of them, even when they are dressed from head to toe in their protective gear.
Station 207 is located at 75 Vodden St. E. The station houses an aerial truck that can extend its ladder 75 feet in the air. The pumper truck is equipped with a high pressure water pump and actually carries 500 gallons of water. Station 207 is the only fire station in Brampton to have a working fire pole.
Then the fire station got the call that someone needed help, so the firefighters had to make a quick exit. The truck is loud but that is to tell people to move out of the way to let the fire truck pass. Lucky for us the emergency was minor and they even returned when we were still there to visit some more.
The momstown kids got stickers and colouring books to remind them of safety rules.
